About

Hi, I’m Katie Kimbrew — a ceramic artist based in Houston, Texas. I create my work out of HTX Clay, where I also work part-time as a clay educator. It's a space that supports both my passion for making and for sharing the process with others.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Art Education from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, and I've been actively working in ceramics since 2021. What began as a creative outlet quickly turned into a lifelong pursuit of craftsmanship and design.
My focus is on functional pottery — pieces that are made to be used and loved. I believe good design should elevate everyday moments, and my work blends clean, simple forms with thoughtful details to bring beauty into your daily rituals.
What I love most about clay is the process itself. It’s a practice that teaches patience, flexibility, and a deep respect for the unexpected. Every time I sit at the wheel or handbuild a new form, I learn something — about the material, about the craft, and often, about myself.
Whether it’s a mug that becomes part of your morning routine or a serving bowl that gathers stories around the table, my goal is to create pieces that feel like home.
